Der Familienname kann selbstverständlich auch Breier/Breyer o.Ä. lauten.
Da in der hebräischen Inschrift das Sterbedatum mit ליל ש”ק יב שבט (Nacht des heiligen Schabbat, am 12. Schvat) angegeben ist, dürfen wir annehmen, dass Ginendl Breuer in der Nacht zum Schabbat, also noch am Freitag verstorben ist. Der spätere Abend bzw. die Nacht vom Freitag, dem 14. Jänner, ist umgerechnet bereits der 12. Schvat. Das Sterbedatum wird daher, abweichend zu Öhler, mit Freitag, 14. Jänner, angegeben.
Anmerkungen von Prof. Spitzer und Rabbiner Kinstlicher:
- Zeile 1: statt שבת muss es heissen: שבט.
- Zeile 9: statt ושמחת muss es heissen: ושמחה.
- Zeile 10: statt ידידות muss es heissen: ידידת.
Ginendls Vater Abele Breuer, Sohn des David Breuer, wohnte in Sopron und Wien. Starb zusammen mit seiner Frau Channa in der Schoah.

On Facebook there is a group of about 50 people with ties to ancestors in Mattersdorf’s Jewish community. Additionally, many of us have been working together to build a huge Mattersdorf Jewish family tree on Geni.com. There are thousands of names in it already and some families, such as the Breuer and Schischa families, have been traced back to the early 1600s.

The father’s family can be traced directly back to Jakob Breuer who was born in the early 1600s.
